Library Guide for Online Students: Research & Writing Help

The purpose of this Research Guide is to point students to important Library resources that will help you succeed in your course work.

Getting help with Research and Writing

There are several ways to get help with your information needs. Whether you need assistance with finding journal articles or how to format a Turabian footnote for a Bible dictionary, there are several ways we can assist you.

  • For questions about your library account or requesting a scan of a section of a commentary, contact circulation@gs.edu or call 909-687-1489.
  • For help with finding books, journal articles, and other resources, you can  contact reference@gs.edu or call the Reference and Instructional Services librarian at 900-687-1484.
    • The Ask Us! link provides help via chat from 9 a.m - 5 p.m. Pacific Time which is answered by our librarians.
    • The Appointments link allows you to sign up for a 15-60 minute appointment with one of our librarians up to three weeks in advance.
  • While you can access the library web site and use all the resources available there 24/7, the librarians are here during the hours that the library is open. If you request help, such as calling the reference desk or using the "Ask a Librarian" feature outside of these hours, we will get back to you when the library is open again. (We have to sleep sometime!)  Ask a librarian in-person at one of our six libraries
  • Consult the many tutorials, with instructions and videos on  important topics that you may need to know.

We are here to help you. So if you need assistance, please contact us. It is why we are here.
